Incline Village "Incline Village slept through the Lake's early development, as the centers of activity in the early days sprang up at South Lake Tahoe, Glenbrook and Tahoe City --Barbara and Hugh MacArthur, The History of Incline Village, Nevada. The area was named "Incline" because of the narrow gauge tramline that carried logs almost straight up to the V-flume that ran along the mountain top. Crystal Bay Development Company purchased the 9,000 acres now known as Incline Village, and in the early 1960s roads were cut, Diamond Peak Ski Resort was designed, Incline Beach and Burnt Cedar Beach were developed, and plans began to create two beautiful golf courses, The Executive Course and The Championship Course. Several condominium projects were built in the late 1960s, many with a variety of amenities including Forest Pines and Mountain Shadows. Condominium prices today in Incline Village begin at $300,000. Incline also consists of several subdivisions of single family homes--Mill Creek, Lakeview, The Woods, PonderosaÑto name a few. Entry level home prices in Incline currently begin at $600,000 with lakeview homes starting at $1,000,000. Lakefront condominiums may be purchased for slightly under $1,000,000, and lakefront homes begin at approximately $5,000,000. |
